More about Wilton Scouts and Scouting in general
About Scouting:
Scouting is a worldwide movement for young people aged between 10 and 14½. It provides a wide range of adventurous, fun and exciting activities through which the young people develop personally and as responsible citizens. Scouting is about being with friends, as part of a team, participating fully in the adventure and opportunities of life.
Join us
Wilton Scout Troop:
We meet on Wednesday and Friday evenings, from 7-9pm, in the scout hut behind St George's Church hall in Taunton. These meetings might comprise of games, activities, learning new skills or working towards a badge or award. We also do lots of other adventurous activities. Click here to see a few of the extra activities coming up.
Uniform is the Wilton Scout T-shirt or sweater with Scout scarf. We tend to reserve the formal Scout shirts for special occasions.
What will it cost?
There is a termly subscription of £35. Camps and extra activities (such as caving, quad biking, sailing etc.) are charged separately. We try to keep costs to a minimum for everyone's benefit. Funds are available where money is a genuine concern.
Leaders:
All adults who lead or help in scouting are fully CRB checked by the police. Leaders also undergo an extensive training programme to equip them for running a troop.
