Wilton Beaver Colony
Beavers is for children aged 6-8. We make new friends, try new activities and have lots and lots of fun. We also go camping and do lots of other exciting things!
We meet on Thursdays from 5.30 to 7pm during term time. You will find us at St George's Church Hall in Wilton, Taunton.

Wilton membership form and cover letter - fill this form out when you join to give us some essential information about you
Directions to Huish Woods Scout Campsite - Huish Woods is our local campsite (and a jolly good one too!). We like camping a lot so you will definitely need to know where to find this.
Camping kit list - this is a generic list that you can use for any of our camps. If there are special extra things you need to bring to a camp we will let you know.
Shooting letter - at Wilton we occasionally do target air rifle shooting as a skill based activity. This letter explains a bit about this and allows you to record your preferences.
CRB forms
Unlike the other age groups in Scouting, when Beavers go camping in tents they must each take a parent (or guardian) with them. When any adult stays overnight at any Scouting camp or helps out regularly at meetings they must have a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check. We therefore ask that any adults who plan to come with their child on camp (and we hope this will be all of you) complete a CRB form. The results of these checks are kept completely confidential. It is worth getting the form done in good time to ensure that there are no last minute delays in allowing your child to camp with us.

Uniform
Your child will need some uniform. This can be purchased from the Scout shop at Tangier Scout and Guide Centre on Castle Street in Taunton. You should note that the shop is only open from 7-9pm on Wednesdays and does not have facilities to take credit cards.
You will need to get the Beaver sweater and a Wilton scarf, and we also recommend that you get a Beaver log book.
